Attention all Band members: there is a dress rehearsal today, 3:25-4:25 PM, in Panther Hall.  You don’t have to actually dress up but please try to attend so we can be prepared for Spring Showcase tomorrow.  Again, Band dress rehearsal today, 3:25-4:25 PM, in Panther Hall.

 

 

The following is a reminder to all students: “Electronic devices are not allowed on campus between 7:30am – 3:15pm -this includes, but is not limited to - cell phones, radios, CD player, iPods, MP3 players, tablets, digital cameras, Apple watches, etc.
The school/district policy on electronic devices is:  If we see it or hear the device on campus it will be confiscated, and parents must come to the office to sign for the device.   
IF THERE IS A SECOND VIOLATION OF THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY, A PARENT OR THE STUDENT CAN PICK IT UP AFTER SCHOOL ON THE LAST DAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.”  Thank you students for your compliance and teachers for your support.

 

6th Graders -  Many of you received a letter along with your progress report asking for proof that you received your T-dap immunization.  If you received a letter, bring the proof immediately so you can start on the first day of school. Bring it to the Counseling, Main or Attendance Office.

 

Tomorrow is a regular 3:05pm release. Please let your parents know to pick you up at 3:05pm

 

All Parkway Library Books Due.   Please check for any school textbooks and library books that need to be collected and returned.  If a library book is lost, it is appreciated if your family replaces the book with a new hardcover copy or send in the money for the cost of the book. For lost textbooks the library will only accept cash for replacements.    Students are encouraged to use the South San Francisco Public Libraries over the summer as a resource for summer reading programs.

 

Today is the last day of Colorguard mini-camp from 4:45 to 6:30 PM in the Band Room.  8th grade auditions are at South City High this Thursday, 3:30-6:00 PM. All Parkway students are invited to attend today, 4:45 to 6:30 PM in the Band Room.. Free food - that’s right - free food!  Please see Mr. M for more details.

  • Hablemos Club is meeting after school today. Same place, Same time.

 

  • Attention Peer Tutoring Program. Our last session of the year is after school today in Room D7.  Tutors, come prepared with your student quizzes.  Snack provided.

 

  • Attention ALL Students - The Vending Machines will be closed the first 20 minutes of lunch EVERYDAY.  Do NOT make a line for the vending machines.  Also don’t put money in the machines when they are unplugged you will lose that money.  

 

  • Students, our Turtle games are back on! It has been rescheduled to this Friday, May 4th. It will take place at Spruce Elementary at 4pm.  It will be staff versus eighth grade in volleyball and basketball. Admission is free, however you must not be on the non-activity list to attend. 8th graders who are eligible can sign up in the main office.

 

  • Giant’s tickets are on sale for the upcoming game against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday, May 1, at 7:15 PM.  Some of our band students will be performing the National Anthem before the game.  Help support the PHMS band programs and get your discounted $15 tickets now!   Ticket sales will stop after school today with ticket distribution tomorrow during 4th Period.  All students who purchase tickets will be entered into a raffle for 1 field pass. Please see Mr. Montellano in the Band Room or any of our 72 band students. Goooo Giants!

 

  • Attention all Golden State Warriors fans, with the Dubs in playoff mode, Mr. Lopez has declared every Wednesday in May “Warrior Wednesday.” Come in your favorite Warriors jersey, jacket, shirt, or sweater. Sorry, NO Warriors hats and NO free bottoms, school bottoms only. And of course, you must be off the Non-Activity list to participate. Go Warriors!!!

 

  • Attention all 6th graders.  Today is the last day to turn in your class t-shirt and sweatshirt orders.  Please turn them into Ms. Richgels.

  • In honor of Earth Day the library is inviting faculty, staff, and students to the book giveaway, today, Monday, April 23rd during lunch. These books need to find good second homes where they will be read and loved. What better way to celebrate Earth day, than with a used book! Please be green and bring your backpacks or reusable bags.

  • "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do DOES makes a difference.  Choose to re-use your water bottle by exchanging single use plastic for a reusable one in D-1 during lunch!

We celebrate Earth Day in April!  Keep plastic out of landfills and exchange your unopened clear plastic bottle for a re-usable one. D-1 during lunch everyday this week.  Everything you do makes a difference!!

 

Students due to scheduling conflict out Turtle Games has been cancelled. However, the plan is to now have a volleyball game (Staff vs. 8th graders) on Aloha Day.  More information to come.

 

Next week is out last spirit week of the year. Only students who are NOT on the non-activity list may participate.  Flyers will be posted for each theme day and will have the details of what to wear and what not to wear.

Come in your favorite pajamas, robes, sweats.

  • Attention all 8th graders who are applying to AVID. Remember to fill out your application and give your recommendation form to a teacher. If you need help filling out your application, come to counseling so your counselors can help you. The application is due to counseling by March 9th.

 

  • Have you thought about going to college someday? Have you heard it’s expensive and you don’t know how you can pay for college? Come to the College and Career Fair this Saturday at South San Francisco High School. All students from kindergarten to high school are invited, this means all of you Parkway students! Bring your parents and siblings and you can all learn how to make college happen! It is this Saturday from 11-2pm at South San Francisco High School. You can enter to win prizes. Winners will be chosen from each school in our district.

  • Today at lunch, come to the black top and support our beloved volleyball team as we have a lunch rally to help them get hyped and ready for their battle vs Alta Loma.  Rally starts at 11:55am.
